The Rune Knight found herself surrounded. The horde of monsters laughed as they encircled her, cutting her off from her allies. What could one pitiful human do against an army?
She just smirked and raised her sword. The sigil on her blade flashed, blinding the first rank of chargers, but they kept coming.
A wind sprang up around her, pushing against her attackers, becoming more and more solid, more real, and taking the shape of lancers, archers, and foot soldiers, resisting the incoming charge.
Afterward, she lowered her blade. She was separated from her allies, but she never fought alone.
