The vampire limped into his hidden lair, bloodied but still upright. These wounds were not enough to kill him, but he was still fuming.
He sat gingerly at his desk and wrote instructions for his daylight servants. Centuries of wealth and influence would serve where his unholy powers failed him. Every manufacturer, politician and columnist under his sway would be brought to bear.
The vampire lay in his coffin to begin a long, healing sleep. When he awoke, backup cameras would be mandatory on all road vehicles.
This was the last time someone backed into him in a parking lot!
